We are thrilled to share an easy and fun DIY for your next party with Alexandria of FTD.  She shows us an easy way to use a household item to make beautiful marble paper for place cards, favor cards, gift cards, and more.

How to Marble Paper for Your Next Event

When planning an event, the personalized decor details make all the difference. Many decide to do this by creating a personalized drink bar (watermelon keg anyone?) while others customize the theme so that it’s carried through from the invitation to the goodie bag.

A simple way to add a unique element to your event is by marbling paper. Creating marbled paper is easy to do and can be used in all areas of your event from place cards to the thank you notes.

To help you achieve a stylish marbled look, FTD has a tutorial on how to marble paper. After you complete the 7 easy steps, the styling is up to you.

Let the marbling begin!

Materials:

  • Baking sheet
  • Shaving cream (must be foam not gel)
  • Watercolors and acrylic paint
  • Cardstock
  • Paint
  • Brush
  • Dropper
  • Scraper (paint scraper, ruler or any flat edge)

Step 1: Fill the baking sheet with shaving cream.

Step 2: Smooth out the surface of the shaving cream.

Step 3: Add in two to three colors with a dropper.

Step 4: Swirl the colors in a figure eight pattern.

Step 5: Lightly press the cardstock into the shaving cream.

Step 6: Remove and scrape off the extra shaving cream.

Step 7: Let the paper dry and enjoy!

We love this DIY project and think that it would be such a nice touch to a bridal shower.  Thank you for sharing this great idea Alexandria!
